Tuesday 8 October from 16:30 to 18:30 is the opening of my solo exhibition with the theme “Partwise” in the chapel of the VU medical center! The exhibition can be visited daily and will be open until the end of November.
Partwise
There are innumerable patterns to be discovered in a human life. Where are we in the life cycle, the overarching pattern of existence? Both resignation to and conflict with the uncertainty of this concept is a binding factor for people.
“Partwise” indicates something that is found to be true, taking into account all parts of the whole. A truth relates to a limited amount of data / information / material and the term Partwise therefore implies that no wisdom holds true everywhere. Partwise can be seen as a metaphor in which every part of the life cycle has value.
